Today sees the formal start of the North Carolina Science Blogging Conference, an event which I unfortunately cannot attend. Instead of spending my Friday with Bora and other science bloggers, I was giving a public talk titled "Evolution Is ..." at Phoenix Country Day School in Paradise Valley. Basic content was to delineate some of the things evolution is (and is not) and to show some of the exciting things we can discover using fossils, molecules, behavioral studies etc. For those that might be interested, I’ve made the slides available here [PDF, 5.85M]

Thanks for making your presentation available for download. The next time you give this talk perhaps you could have someone record it on video.
Were the students you presented to high school age? How well did the students understand all of it? Did you have positive/negative reactions to it?
Sorry, I'm tired been writing all day. But when I read your first slide even with the color and font changes I had to laugh.

A bit presumptuous and quite a claim, though I suppose you have evidence to document your position. It really isn't any more far fetched than some of the claims floating around out there. I hope you aren't going to start claiming magical powers next.
Well, Professor, as much as I would've loved to see you, you were busy *doing* what we were all simply talking about. I hope the Phoenix/Paradise Valley folks realize how lucky they were to hear you. Maybe next year our schedules will work out.

Impressive. That's an amazing amount of material for 75 minutes for a general audience.
