Who am I?

John M. Lynch is an Honors Faculty Fellow at Barrett the Honors College at Arizona State University. He's also affiliated with ASU's Center for Biology & Society. When he's not an historian of anti-evolutionism, he's an evolutionary morphologist. Much to his surprise, in 2007 he was named the Arizona Professor of the Year. No doubt his students were surprised as well.

PeeZizzle does it again

Category: Anti-evolution

Hilariously, Myers does it again and invades an Expelled event only to get expelled again. This time it was a conference call.

There was some mad rustling and flustering about on the other side of the phone some complaints, etc., and then one of them asked me to do the honorable thing and hang up...so I said yes, I would do the honorable thing and hang up while they continued the dishonorable thing and continued to lie.

No doubt Nisbet will have an attack of the vapors any moment now.

Update: Predictably the DI-hack spin has begun already. Denyse O'Leary claims "Myers apparently somehow got into the press conference itself! - 'under false pretences' [sic] according to the moderator". Problem is, PZ - like all members of the Panda's Thumb received an invitation from the movies PR firm. Now it could perhaps be argued that PZ should have stayed quiet and not interrupted the show but you've got to question why Mathis and co hadn't muted the phone lines. Apparently the "conference call" was supposed to be an echo chamber in which journalists got to listen to Stein and co field pre-screened questions. In other words, difficult questions were "expelled." Oh, the irony.

Update (3/29): Skepchick has a transcript of the call.

This time he actually was gate-crashing, but it's still damn funny.

If only he would have pretended to hang up.... I'll bet a bottle of single-malt that the ensuing dialoge by the DI Morons was ABSOLUTELY PRICELESS!

Maybe we can get Homeland Security to re-play the conversation...

No, no, no - you see, PZ should have just hung onto the phone and called someone else to speak for him. Don't you see, this is playing right into their hands by showing how Big Science is Atheistic at heart, which is just what they want.

And if that made any sense to anybody, I apologize in advance.
