John M. Lynch is an Honors Faculty Fellow at Barrett the Honors College at Arizona State University. He's also affiliated with ASU's Center for Biology & Society. When he's not an historian of anti-evolutionism, he's an evolutionary morphologist. Much to his surprise, in 2007 he was named the Arizona Professor of the Year. No doubt his students were surprised as well.

More Expelled dishonesty

More Expelled dishonesty. Michael Shermer wondered why the movie opens with a packed house of Pepperdine students listening to Stein:

The biology professors at Pepperdine assure me that their mostly Christian students fully accept the theory of evolution. So who were these people embracing Stein’s screed against science? Extras. According to Lee Kats, associate provost for research and chair of natural science at Pepperdine, "the production company paid for the use of the facility just as all other companies do that film on our campus" but that "the company was nervous that they would not have enough people in the audience so they brought in extras. Members of the audience had to sign in and a staff member reports that no more than two to three Pepperdine students were in attendance. Mr. Stein’s lecture on that topic was not an event sponsored by the university." And this is one of the least dishonest parts of the film.

We're gonna have to create a whole taxonomic system for varieties of "Expelled" dishonesty. This....this is just getting friggan ridiculous.

Expelled: To Seriously Lie. Not a white lie, an expelled lie.

example: I will give every reader of Stranger Fruit Blog $100.

Ha! No I won't, I was just expelling.

example 2: There is WMD in Iraq, and Sadam Hussein is in league with Al Quida.

Ha ha! You all fell for it, I was just expellin'!

I am sure that other examples will occur to others. I just hope we can all avoid "being expelled to" today.
