I've been tagged, twice, with a meme. A whole heap of more pressing things are weighing down on me today, but this looks like as good an opportunity as any to test-drive the new Movable Type installation. Time to see if words can still be pushed through the guts of ScienceBlogs. Here are the rules as given:
One: Link to the person who tagged you. Two: Post the rules.
Three: Write six random things about yourself.
Four. Tag six people.
Five. Inform the tagees and the person who tagged you.
Item One has already been satisfied (see the aforelinked). Item Three will be dispensed with forthwith.
1. I have a scar above one eye which I got from having a door closed in my face when I was of an age which put me at the same height as the door handle. It does not, to my knowledge, throb to indicate the presence of danger.
2. During my senior year of high school, I was elected Prom King.
3. My favourite mixed drink is the mojito.
4. When I installed Firefox on my new laptop, it decided to use the British spelling dictionary, so I've been exploring the peculiarities of this parallel u-intensive universe ever since.
5. Of the few experiences I've had which I could legitimately call "spiritual" — numinous might be a better word here — two came from studying science, and the third happened during a Mary Prankster concert.
6. Although my musical abilities are limited to the three notes on the recorder I learned in fifth grade, I did in fact edit a music video for friends in an indie rock band.
Now, as to tagging people. . . Feh. Looks like this is another day for being lazy, breaking rules and claiming to be a rebel.

I had some spiritual experiences at Mary's concerts, but then I was backstage interviewing her for a zine. Do tell more about yours :D

Offtopic but of interest to skeptics or folks with common sense generally: the author of a new book arguing for childhood vaccines and against the fashionable notion that they cause autism -- it notes that he's received death threats, that he feels the CDC and Surgeon General haven't come out strongly enough on the issue, that the pro-vaccine folks now have a celebrity spokeswoman too, and that the media is getting its false sense of balance on.
