Here's a charming example of corporate bullying - a major chain throwing its weight around so that we can't wear "Eat More Kale" t-shirts.: Chick-fil-A sent Mr. Muller-Moore a warning once before, in 2006, but did not pursue that matter. Now, Mr. Muller-Moore and Mr. Richardson are awaiting a response from the company, and they plan to continue with their trademark application. In a statement, Chick-fil-A said, "We must legally protect and defend our 'Eat mor chikin' trademarks in order to maintain rights to the slogan." But Mr. Richardson does not think the company's argument would hold up…
From The Ineffable Crunchy Chicken: There's a bit of hub-bub going on on Facebook right now about how the Dervaes family (of Path to Freedom fame) has successfully trademarked the terms "urban homestead" and "urban homesteading" and is forcing Facebook to shut down pages that use the term and sending legal notifications to businesses with the term "urban homesteading" in it. I don't know where this is all going or how much of this is true, but if it is, I'm going to be seriously disappointed in the narrow-mindedness of their actions. Contrary to all previous indications, scientists are not always shy, reserved and polite, prefering the inside of a lab to any possibility of confrontation. On the heels of the discovery of this new phenomenom comes a fresh bit of research from the icey confines of Antarctic research facilities. After three long months of studying ice core samples in the Antarctic, a multidisciplinary climate research team presented startling evidence showing that all…
I’m not sure whether this comic is funny or frightening: Either way, Rob Balder did it again.
This is a nice, pretty leech: This is a not-so-nice-and-pretty, content-stealing leech: And, of course, when you find one leech, there's probably more lurking around. Sure enough, there are others trying to suck off of the content you see on this page. (You know who you are, COLORADOHOMECLUBINFO and isadamlari.org!) If you are reading this on someone else's blog, and it doesn't say it is "by Karmen", and it isn't making any sort of unique comment on the content, then you are reading stolen words. Please do not patronize these sites; they steal content, often without giving any credit to the…
