Thoughts from Kansas

You will notice that it lacks definiteness; that it lacks purpose; that it lacks coherence; that it lacks a subject to talk about; that it is loose and wabbly; that it wanders around; that it loses itself early and does not find itself any more. --Mark Twain

You're probably in the final stages of a Ph.D. or otherwise finding a way to make your living out of reading. You are one of the literati. Other people's grammatical mistakes make you insane.

Oh damn it, I'm only a Literate Good Citizen. I suspect that's off a little bit though since I tend to go through withdrawal symptoms when I don't have something good to read. When I start reading the ingredients on a box of cereal it's bad.

Literate Good Citizen here. Have been reading nothing but books about science and evolution since 1999, but recently have been lightening up with books about faith, the Bible, and Peter Cook and Dudley Moore (two-thirds of "Beyond the Fringe").
