At least he didn't attribute bitterness to these people; people whose houses are being repossessed while the school systems have to lay off teachers, health care reform languishes, and family members return from Iraq wounded or dead might possibly be bitter.

He is formerly a doctoral candidate at the University of Kansas, in the department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. That's pretty rich considering the town he was born in had a population of about 1000 people...
