All you godless creatures

Cheer now! The pulpit is in the hands of the godless says WSJ.

More like this

this is all fun and entertaining. something like religion i feel will always be needed. for instance at the end of the grand accomplishment of splitting the atom, came its use in an atom bomb. It shook many scientists from sleep. where is moral authority? what were we doing when we decided to split the atom?

it seems like more than god, religion would be useful. a common framework that compel everyone by social pressure to believe in basic decency. so any one who gets to be in the top, however insulated would still be ingrained not with an independent and original view of whats moral and right, but a co-dependent view, one that gives you the confident that they won't act very differently from you in extreme situations.

this is not about belief, but about the sort of training that only a religious framework has provided thus far. medical field has been teaching its community ethics and keeps its intact for a long time. perhaps something like that is needed on a much larger scale if current institutions supporting religion are to replaced.
