Ten dollar computer?

Category: Prime Stream
Posted on: May 4, 2007 7:03 AM, by Selva

TOI has a story about the Indian government preparing to create a ten dollar computer. [via /.] No details about the hardware, software. I am all for cheap computers that have some prabablility of becoming real. But what the heck is this? A joke?

You knew it would only be a matter of time before there was a cheap knockoff of the world's cheapest computer...

TOI is known for putting out colorful stories that are totally disconnected from reality. Either that or someone in the HRD ministry spoke while on crack and got reported by an impressionable TOI reporter.
