The CN Tower in Toronto is 553m tall. It is the World's tallest building and has held this title for over 30 years.

I've been in the CN Tower's observatory and played laser tag in its basement right before a Blue Jays game. I love Toronto.
For purposes of rewcords and superlatices, though, I don't think the Tower classifies as a "building" but as a "free-standing structure."
