I have been waiting about six months to see this. Here's just a sample:

Planet Earth starts this coming Sunday, March 25 at 8 p.m. on Discovery (if you hadn't seen the huge ad at the top of the page).

It's a pity that we in the States won't be hearing David Attenborough's wonderful narration. The Discovery Channel has replaced him with Sigourney Weaver. Nothing against Ms. Weaver, but what a loss.

What's worse, there seems to be some question as to whether or not the Attenborough-narrated will be the one released in the States on DVD and Blu-ray. Let's hope it is.

Well, that mutes my excitement a great deal. Thanks for the heads up, Dennis.

As you said, what a loss.

Hey, welcome to your new home on the web! Looking forward to seeing your new banner! I noticed ads for Planet Earth too and wasn't sure what to expect (seems like the Discovery Channel has moved away from nature programs to monster truck specials). I checked out the program's web page and am now planning to watch it. There are even TWO whole episodes about caves! :-)

We just finished up the second part of Planet Earth here in Australia. It's as terrific and stunning as his programs always are, but watch out for the (I think) second last one on the oceans, there's some mind blowing imagery of the deep oceans in it.

oh you are gonna love this! We have seen a few already on the CBC, and it has become the only show in a long time that I MUST record! Too bad they ditched Attenborough on your side of the border, that is a definate loss... you will enjoy the incredible footage though.

They ditched Attenborough? What were they thinking? I suppose I shouldn't gloatingly mention that I have the DVDs for the entire (properly narrated) series right here...ooops.

*sigh*

I'm extremely jealous, Chris. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed that they make both available in the States.

On another note, I'm also looking forward to Attenborough's Life in Cold Blood. I wonder when that's coming out...
