I picked up a couple of shifts catering homecoming this weekend, which is why things have been dead the past couple of days. I did, however, finish a couple of Jack Vance books which I want to discuss next week, specifically the social/lingual aspects of them. I also found a great paper about habitat fragmentation which opens the door for me to go into edge effects (the resulting edge of clearing a natural habitat and imposing another - ex: forest/farm land) and a new theory regarding its variability.

The next couple of months should be very interesting. We're moving at the end of November, probably around Thanksgiving, and I forgot just how much fun it is to pack up and carry dozens of boxes of books. At least the cats are having fun; the uneven towers boxes make a perfect playground.

Hey! Haven't talked to you in a while. I check your blog while I'm at work each day. I hope you don't mind, but I told Steph that if you were dead, you'd be rolling over in your grave at how much she has been neglecting her blog.

I'm in Rockville working as a... get this... "web writer." They wanted someone who could write, design, and code, but with an emphasis on writing. Makes me feel bad for all the English majors who can write, but shit themselves when they see "teh internetz."

That's great, Derek. I'm still interviewing/waiting for Heather to graduate. Not really sure where we'll end up right now.

Give me a call sometime. We have much to discuss.
