Just finished reading this article from Science Daily, which discusses Mark Jacobson's new paper which has supposedly teased out the mortality effects of CO2 on human populations. According to Jacobson,
This is a cause and effect relationship, not just a correlation. The study is the first specifically to isolate carbon dioxide's effect from that of other global-warming agents and to find quantitatively that chemical and meteorological changes due to carbon dioxide itself increase mortality due to increased ozone, particles and carcinogens in the air.
I can't wait to hear about how the study uses a computer model from our denialist friends followed by a complete rehash of all of the tired rhetoric that goes along with it.
To me, it will be more interesting to see if this paper will have any impact on the EPA's ruling against individual state emission regulations, especially in California.

No need for computer models; anything which involves
- statistics (insert some generic criticism here)
- carbon dioxide (CO[2] is harmless, dang it!)
- universities (all researchers have a vested interest in grants)
is fair game for the denialists.
