Is Palin a Young Earth Creationist?

Category: Presidential Candidate
Posted on: October 1, 2008 8:33 PM, by Michael Stebbins

dinosaur.jpgOMG! The LA Times has an article from over the weekend that details a 1997 interaction between a Wasilla resident, Philip Munger, and then Mayor Sarah Palin. Now this is one man's story from a decade ago, but if it is true, then she is officially a worse candidate for VP than Dan Quayle ever was. There has been a lot of talk about Governor Palin's faith, but believing in God is a far cry from believing that man walked the earth with dinosaurs. Obviously Mr. Munger has a bone to pick with the Governor, but the story, if true, disturbs me to the core nonetheless. From the article:

Palin told him that "dinosaurs and humans walked the Earth at the same time," Munger said. When he asked her about prehistoric fossils and tracks dating back millions of years, Palin said "she had seen pictures of human footprints inside the tracks," recalled Munger, who teaches music at the University of Alaska in Anchorage and has regularly criticized Palin in recent years on his liberal political blog, called Progressive Alaska.

And when I saw the size of the man riding on the apatosaurus, I said: "Jesus! He's bigger than Goliath!" Truly, there were giants in those days ...

Not a bad question for Biden to ask. Either way, she looks like a lulu.

OMG, is that supposed to be Jesus riding a dinosaur? Where did you get that pic? I love it!

Adrienne, iirc that pic was on conservapedia long ago. It wasn't satirical there.

Yes, the same Sarah Palin who attends a church where the Pastor was recently in Kenya, Africa casting demons out of people. I'm not making this up:

I fear that the answer is yes, she believes the hype.

But hey, she's just like all you moms out there!

Right?

Hey, I just noticed in that Jesus Dino-Cowboy pic - he's riding a dinosaur that was actually 100 feet long and stood almost 30 feet high at the shoulder.

Man, Jesus must have been HUGE!!!

What'd they crucify him on? A redwood?

Cleverly written propaganda like this makes me question the "science" process you so passionately purport to sponsor. I expect better from you "Dr." Stebbins.

Posted by: Michael | October 2, 2008 9:48 AM

I am not sure what you mean by "propaganda" or "clever." I couched my comments by adding "if true" twice and pointed out that this was one man's story who clearly has a bone to pick with the Governor. Do you categorize all bad news about the McCain ticket as propaganda? Is this not a disturbing story?

Posted by: Michael Stebbins | October 2, 2008 2:29 PM

C'mon. J.C. is comfortably riding in a side-saddle position on a very young Apatosaurus, obviously. Everyone is so quick to criticize...

That's a silly belief - almost as dumb as believing that some pedophile creep from the 7th century was communicating with God in the Arabian desert.

Of course Palin is a creationist, and she is a young creationist at that by the looks of her comment. Munger needs a life, my goodness, she was no threat to the University of Alaska because she didn't believe in mandating creationism in the public schools. 80 percent approval rating in Alaska, much higher than Munger would ever get...lol

80 percent approval rating in Alaska

That was before Troopergate.

According to the latest polls (21 September), only 55 % of Alaskans are going to vote for McPain/Failin'.

Guess who else rides a dinosaur: HIYO T.REX!!!1!
