Stay tuned for the final eight...
All manner of human creativity on display
David Ng is Director of the Advanced Molecular Biology Laboratory at the University of British Columbia - this is a just a fancier way of calling himself a science teacher.
Benjamin Cohen is an Asst. Professor of Science, Tech., and Society at the University of Virginia. He studies the place of S & T in environmental history, policy, and ethics. He also writes other stuff.
Trying to find your way around this place? Like most expositions, we offer a map: Map of The World's Fair

YES! Send me a free issue of Seed.
If I like what I see, I'll receive 5 more issues (6 in all) for just $14.95. That's 50% off the cover price! If I'm not completely satisfied, I'll simply write "cancel" on the invoice and owe nothing. The free issue is mine to keep.

And already the bookies (in jurisdictions where sports betting is legal) are offering prices on the contenders. The big news is that Darwin is the strong favourite, reflecting his staying power and form so far in seeing off both Jesus and Mammon (in the guise of Corporate).
HONEST JIM'S TIP Resist the temptation to back Darwin at only 5-2. The value to be had is further down the field - look at the nines being offered on Theory. After all, many of the other competitors have relied on Theory at some point in their careers, so it might just use its greater experience sneak through.
Full odds:
Darwin 5-2 fav
General Relativity 5-1
Invertebrates 11-2
d-orbitals 7-1
Theory 9-1
HIV 10-1
Particle 12-1
Fossil Fuel 14-1

You gotta believe Darwin's odds are best put -- this is Scienceblogs, and bio heavy too, right? And Dave is a biology guy, right? I think D's got this showdown wrapped up. So long as the other guy, Cohen, doesn't get all fancy somehow.
