Paris Hilton Advocates Intelligent Design!

Category: Knoxville '82: Where Miscellany Thrive
Posted on: January 23, 2008 3:10 PM, by Benjamin Cohen

Dave has recently led the charge in bringing Paris Hilton and Britney Spears to Scienceblogs. Now comes this news that Hilton is actually shilling for the Intelligent Design crowd! I hope our reputation doesn't suffer or we don't lose the election for best Canadian Blog for having brought this to the blogosphere's attention.

Of course, the news isn't shocking.* But it is worth repeating. And it's worth repeating and spreading the word because most of us are simply too busy to be bothered otherwise. A lot of readers, from the e-mails we get, seem to think that Hilton-speak and Spears-speak and Whoever-Else-Should-Be-Ignored-speak has no place in such an austere forum. We agree.

That's why we're concerned to not give any attention to such things.

We will not post about the topic.

We will not seek hits based on using Hilton's name in the title.

We will follow the lead of our readers to show that this simply isn't a topic that people care about or are drawn to. True, it seems we lost the transcript of Hilton talking about Intelligent Design, but that's a minor issue. It's huge news, that's the point. We'll track down veracity later. If you search for it, you do find Bill Maher mentioning both Hilton and I.D. in the same show and others note that the connection has not heretofore been drawn.

Our point is to say, Paris Hilton's name no more!

Britney Spears name no more!

And Tom Brady!

And Paris Hilton's too!!

We're above this, just like you!

* Or true.

This might be a threshold of "intelligence" that is low enough to account for all the sub-optimal characteristics of organisms....

One of the main sources of hits on my site is badly adjusted College Republicans googling for nude pictures of Ann Coulter. No many how many posts I put up saying I have no free pictures of Ann Coulter in the nude, they keep coming back to my site hoping that something will have changed and that I will have photos of Ann Coulter buck naked.

It's sad really.

John, will you please explain how you identify the badly adjusted College Republicans? Is there a web counter box that automatically detects them? Really, I need to know how to detect them too!

Dammit John McKay, I thought you were kidding and went to your site to search for nude pictures of Ann Coulter! Are they coming soon? Will you let us know? Are they? Are they?

It is my understanding that Hilton thought Intelligent Design was a handbag design firm, and that, having noticed the term being bandied about on TV, she didn't want to admit she didn't own any of their Wares.
I believe that my source is as reliable as yours.
