Why is it that showers and even storms seem to come by chance, so that many people think it quite natural to pray for rain or fine weather, though they would consider it ridiculous to ask for an eclipse by prayer?

I don't pray for rain. I dance to drive it away. I did a dance back at the beginning of August which, I think, caused the drought throughout the southeast. Oops. It turns out, with great power comes great responsibility.
Seriously, though, I recall that it sprinkled after Perdue had his prayer vigil, and everybody said "Yay it worked". I wonder if they're looking around now saying "God's a right douche."
