Biodiversity song... TA DA! (sort of)

In case those of you (the 2 or so readers we have here) are anxiously waiting for the song on biodiversity that I promised a while back. Well, I'm still working on it (partly things have been busy, also partly I had some new recording hardware to figure out). Anyway, just to show that I haven't been slacking off, here is a draft of the lyrics:

The main body of lyrics being:

There's you and me, within biodiversity Connecting us together in this world. But you can't see, it all works so majestically Almost imperceptively - day by day

Look around yourself and you will find them everywhere
Species with their latin names, they're here and over there
Can you name them? I don't think so.

It's such a shame. They're beautiful and marvelous
Daily and a part of us, wild and tame.
So let us see, if we can act responsibly
Learn more ecologically, play that game.

Look around yourself and you will find them everywhere
Species with their latin names, they're here and over there
Should we name them? Here we go.

Which at this point we go into a bridge, which will have me attempting to work in lyrics that mention the following creatures (this will be tricky, but I think doable).

Daucus carota carrot Pseudocercosporella herpotrichoides Mimus polyglottos mocking bird Turdus migratorius robin Proteus mirabilis bacteria kogia breviceps Pigmy Sperm Whale Smiladon fatalis Sabre Tooth Cat Corvus corax Raven Troglodytes aedon Wren Arctostaphylos uva-ursi Bearberry Gorilla gorilla gorilla western lowland gorilla Lampropeltis calligastor rhombomaculata Mole King Snake Equus hemionus hemionus Mongolian wild ass Granata imbracata Mullosc Clianthus puniceu Kakabeak Otus scops Eurasian Scops Owl

Whew! Stay tuned! Hopefully next week? I've already got the guitar bit figured out (it's sweet), and need to work on the vocals a bit more (not easy pronouncing these latin names!)

Don't forget about blogging or twittering about the phylomon project. The website is coming up in a few weeks, but it's always nice to see more art submissions.
