Benny's diet is very specialized, consisting mainly of the interior of Ramy nuts, nectar from the Traveller's Palm tree, some fungi and insect grubs. He is also known to raid coconut plantations, and has been seen eating lychees and mangoes, which are also plantation crops.

New Species of Sea Slug Discovered in Qatar

Category: mollusknew species
Posted on: October 10, 2007 11:07 AM, by ableiman

The Qatar National History Group, a Qatari (Qatarian, Qatarese?), nature outing group, recently discovered what is believed to be a new species of sea slug. The pictures of the colorful critter were reviewed by Dr. Bill Rudman, head of the Sea Slug Forum, and he believes it bears resemblance to a sea slug last seen in Pakistan a century ago. Perhaps more even more interesting, was Zooillogix's discovery of the existence of the Sea Slug Forum, which has an exhaustive collection sea slug pictures and aqua-slug related links. Spend a few minutes perusing this awesome collection and make your cubicle mate think you are weirder than they already do.

Like a model without cocaine and cigarettes, sea slugs quickly lose their sex appeal when removed from the water.

They are quite beautiful - like butterflies of the sea.

P.S.: Quatari

P.P.S. Without the 'u' of course.

They are tasty, too, if cooked properly.

They are really wonderful, ...indeed like butterflies!!!

Lovely photos, which make them all look outstanding, so butterflies of the sea seems appropriate. However, unlike butterflies they are hard to see in their natural environment, they merge right into their surroundings.

The creature with red cerata seems very like Coryphella (Flabellina).Just the same colour has our Coryphella gracilis of the White and Barents Seas . It is a pity that only the left side of the body is shown on the photo. The characteristic (diagnostic) position of the anus of Coryphellas is on the right side . The photographs are very beautiful!
