Benny's diet is very specialized, consisting mainly of the interior of Ramy nuts, nectar from the Traveller's Palm tree, some fungi and insect grubs. He is also known to raid coconut plantations, and has been seen eating lychees and mangoes, which are also plantation crops.

I look at jerboas and have trouble believing they're real. Something about their legs looks unreal, as if they're a hamster whose availed itself of a titanium prosthesis, or a child's craft project.

Very bouncy though. Love 'em!

They look like some absurd cross between a field-mouse, a hamster and a magpie - horrendously cute, though.

Didn't realize jerboas could be kept as pets. If my house wasn't already filled with hairy, shedding mammals I'd consider one. That one looks quite tame and adorable. Loves to hop, too.
