Our nation's long-range fiscal situation is in grave peril, according to David Walker, and our deficit is growing daily. If nothing changes, the federal government will only be able to pay for the interest on the accumulated debt, and will be unable to cover health care, social security, education, national defense, homeland security, and other perks. Walker, the nation's top accountant and head of the Government Accountability Office has gotten tired of being ignored by government officials so he now is taking his message directly to the taxpayers as you will see in this streaming video.
They don't say it on this video, but I'll say it here; this is what happens to out-of-work scientists. They don't stop making experiments at all! Instead, they find new experiments to conduct in the absence of paying work.
Are you afraid? Well, if so, please be sure to employ your local unemployed scientist in a scientific field.
I forgot to mention that grrrrrrl scientists like to blow up things, too.
Is Bush suffering from presenile dementia? Is this the result of Alzheimer's Disease or is it the result of brain damage due to excessive drug and alcohol use? Your guess is as good as mine.
Or maybe there is genius behind the stupidity, as you saw earlier? (just to remind you of the previous video)
This video, below the fold, tells the story of a man whose penis became the temporary home for the candiru fish, a parasitic fish that lives off its host's blood. Do I think this is fact or fiction? Actually, I am not sure what to think, even though I've been told in the past that this is fiction.
Below the fold is a streaming video where we learn more about the genius behind the stupidity that is otherwise known as "the W."
Wow, this streaming video is Keith Olbermann's fabulous smack-down of Condoleezza Rice's stupid statements about the Iraq War [8:20].
This is a humorous look at the ease with which people can smuggle themselves, along with some grass and coke across the Mexican-American border.
Below the fold is a video that is meant to be provocative. On one hand, I agree with what the kid is saying, but on the other hand, I find it repulsive that the adults involved with the making of this video are comfortable with using a kid to say such things. Why hide behind a kid? Why not take credit for your own opinions and words?
Rhetorical response from Bill O'Reilly ... *yawn* .. why wouldn't he just ignore this, instead of drawing more attention to the video by ranting about it?

This is a video of wild chimps using stone tools to crack open nut shells so they can get at the nutmeats inside. Most of the chimps have a baby sitting next to them, learning about the reward to be had after crushing the nut with a rock.
I stumbled across this video spoof and thought you would enjoy it too.

Do you have troubles with multiplication? Below the video is a demonstration of an easy way to multiply large numbers together. How long has this method been known? Why were we never taught this when we were kids?

Below the fold is a video of cellular vesicles "walking" along microtubules inside a cell. I thought that the assembly of the microtubules was especially interesting to watch, particularly since my students often could not understand the dynamics of this process.

Birdbrained? Who says? Many people either think all birds are stupid or that they carry bird flu. However, a 17 year-old Indian Ring-necked parrot, Psittacula krameri, is showing people how clever birds are. This bird, named AJ, visited Martha Stewart on her program to show her a few tricks, such as playing golf and basketball. The video is below the fold for you to enjoy;
