In fact I was stationed in the Infantry unit that did the search and recovery effort in the pentagon post 9-11. I'm not a "no planer" as they are called, because I picked up the parts. However having served and lived in the DC area I know how secure the airspace was. The pentagon itself has anti-aircraft boxes from the cold war era. There is no way the plane could have gotten close considering the second plane had struck some 30 minutes before.
