Loathing your limbs

Pearce JM. Misoplegia. Eur Neurol. 2007;57(1):62-4. Epub 2006 Nov 20. Review.

Hemiplegia is paralysis of one side of the body. It can be congenital or acquired as the result of disease or injury involving the spinal cord and/or brain. Stroke is a common cause.

Misoplegia is the hatred of paralyzed body parts in those afflicted by hemiplegia. People with misoplegia have been known to verbally or physically abuse their paralyzed parts.

LOL! That's understandable! These bodies are such great phenomenon when they work correctly and can be such a pain when they don't!
