I think I just threw up a little

If you've ever worked in a bio lab, you know what I mean: these look too real!

Yes, I know Pharyngula and BoingBoing already got to them early this month, while I was in the middle of finals, but I just had to blog them anyway. They're too bioE. Besides, you can use them as a New Year's diet aid.

hahaha, too funny

HA! My first thought was, COOL! And I've inoculated many a plate. But that was several years ago, so that delicious agar reek is mostly forgotten.

This is very funny! On a slightly nastier side, I remember reading years ago about a community health worker who was responsible for transporting various cultures. She was taking her 3 year old son along and he got into the "chocolate" agar. This was a long time ago, mid-90's at the latest, and the reason for the write up was because the child developed gonoherrea. This of course was a concern due to the potential for child abuse allegations...of course Mom knew on the trip to the e.r. this was a potential problem. Other than the gross out effect and the resulting treatable infection, nothing bad happened to the family. Sorry, I know this sounds like an urban(lab)legend, but I think it ran in readers digest of all places....
