This is Forty

Since I always have time to let you know about developments in my life, I feel compelled to mention that today is my fortieth birthday. I’m even happier, though, that today is the last day of classes (not counting finals, of course).

Happy birthday and commiserations on no longer being eligible for winning the Fields medal, Jason.

    Happy birthday.

Unfortunate timing that the after-effects of a birthday celebration include grading.

Enjoy your Bday. Pick the weight you want to be from now on and work to achieve and maintain it. It only gets harder to stay lean.

Happy belated! Start shopping for reading glasses – you’ll find your arms get shorter after 40.

Happy birthday, Jason. I’ve been enjoying your writings for a while now and look forward to your future work. I, too, reached a milestone birthday this year that we probably deem significant since we have 10 fingers. Interestingly, if we have 6 fingers per hand and thus base-12 oriented, my birthday would still have been a significant one. No, I’m not 120 years old.
