This is Forty

Since I always have time to let you know about developments in my life, I feel compelled to mention that today is my fortieth birthday. I'm even happier, though, that today is the last day of classes (not counting finals, of course).

As Alice kindly announced, today is my 30th birthday. The day got off to a rough start, but a little time ignoring work, eating a lovely organic lunch, reading some Pride and Prejudice, and then eating too much ice cream has turned the day into quite a lovely experience. Anyways, before my natal…
Cricket: chirp. chirp. Oh... wait... you're still here? I'm sorry... I forgot to mention that I was taking a short vacation from writing. Well, I didn't mention it, because I didn't really plan for it. In that case, I would have scheduled something ahead of time. Instead, I finished my finals,…
Regular readers of this blog since before the move to ScienceBlogs a month ago have probably wondered when everybody's favorite blog mascot would return. It's likely that Christopher Mims and the rest of the ScienceBlog editors probably hoped that he wouldn't, so as not to associate the Seed…

Happy birthday and commiserations on no longer being eligible for winning the Fields medal, Jason.

Happy birthday.

Unfortunate timing that the after-effects of a birthday celebration include grading.

Congrats and have fun.

I hope you had a good one

And yet you don't look an epsilon over 39.999.... Congratulations!

Congrats! Please let me know how it feels since I've just turned 39 for the fifth time. (That's my story and I'm sticking to it)

Just realized in Roman Numerals that is XLent

Happy birthday, Jason. I've been enjoying your writings for a while now and look forward to your future work. I, too, reached a milestone birthday this year that we probably deem significant since we have 10 fingers. Interestingly, if we have 6 fingers per hand and thus base-12 oriented, my birthday would still have been a significant one. No, I'm not 120 years old.
