Pleistocene Rewilding Meets Assisted Migration

Nature's Emma Jones recently wrote about Moving On Assisted Migration in Nature Reports. "Experts who once disregarded it as a nutty idea are now working out the nuts and bolts of a conservation taboo: relocating species threatened by climate change." This will certainly raise some eyebrows and some ulcers in the coming decade.

Funny how these nutty ideas loose their nuttiness after a while. Conservation needs all the fresh ideas it can get, and I am glad to see you guys at the forefront of some of those ideas.

Thanks for bringing our attention to this work. Let's hope it helps in overcoming the reluctance to apply our efforts to keep the inventory rich and diverse in the face of an extinction we will not doubt one day regret all the more unless we become more informed and active. And while we're at it, lets release the cheetahs and elephants back onto the range.
