For crying out loud . . .

. . . what the hell is it going to take before those flaming idiots running Congress figure out how the hell to do the right thing? Collectively, they've got the spine of a beached jellyfish, the tenacity of a chipmunk on speed, and the leadership qualities of a concussed pigeon. At this point, they're going to have to work overtime to make it to the Homer Simpson level. Right now, the only thing that they've got going for them is that they're not as bad as the Republicans. That's enough to keep me voting for them, but only just. Call me crazy, but "not as bad as Bush" just doesn't get me jumping up and down.

Every time I read articles (like this one, this one, this one or this one) that talk about how the Democrats are having problems getting the 60 votes in the Senate that they need to move Iraq legislation forward, or how they won't be able to get the 2/3rds of both houses that they need to beat a…
Jason Rosenhouse thinks that PZ, Ed Brayton, Revere, and I have reached a "strange conclusion" about the recent Democratic cave-in on wiretapping. It doesn't make sense, at least to him, that we'd blame the Democrats, given that 80% of the Democrats in Congress didn't vote for the wiretapping bill…
PRESS CENTER | PRINTABLE BRACKETS d-orbitals start off with the ball, hauling it down from the top off, and run the court to drop in the first 2. Fossil Fuels respond, carrying the ball up easily, temperately. They get into a 3-2 formation and then charge right up the gulley, working the flim-…
Over at Grantland, Bill Barnwell offers some unorthodox suggestions for replacing the kickoff in NFL games, which has apparently been floated as a way to improve player safety. Appropriately enough, the suggestion apparently came from Giants owner John Mara, which makes perfect sense giving that…

Hey, they made their stand, they got what they needed: advertising and talking point fodder for the next election campaign.

This is a striking example of why some people would rather vote for a third party, that has no hope of winning, than vote for a democrat.

Perhaps they didn't hear us loud enough in 2006. Maybe in 2008 if we vote out all the rest of the Republicans who have been supporting the war AND the Democrats who havent the balls to do the right thing, then they will hear us.

Careful with your metaphors Mike. I've seen a chipmunk on speed, and it ain't pretty.

Judas friggin' Priest.

I'm waiting for that magic word "impeach", and they go and cave on this? The one thing they really were trying to make an issue of?

The eighth circle of hell is gonna have to be expanded. I thought the Democrats were supposed to be running things now.

Just proof that anything and everything that liberals in this country ever stood for is dead. The wingnut population of the conservatives have truly won, and this country will wither away because of it.
