The other day I took a couple of shots at a ridiculous article by Southern Baptist Theological Seminary President Al Mohler concerning Meyer 2004. Consider that the opening act. PZ Myers puts Mohler's screed through a shredder, then lights it on fire and buries the ashes. Anyone who still wants to defend that bunch of nonsense....good luck.

I think there is some validity to the concerns several of you good folks from The Thumb (Which is the new hip term for The Panda's Thumb...beats The Finger) have posted that the IDCists don't give a hoot about how this piece is critiqued. They're not talking to scientists (Obviously trying to run a Groucho Marx "Who are you going to believe, me or your own two eyes? on educated individuals with well developed critical thinking skills would be pointless). They're just storing ammunition for the next ISD Textbook Review or IDC Bill introduced in local legislatures where Meyer's article will be touted as evidence for the legitimate scientific status of the IDC alternative. Probably with some selected, or completely made up, quotes from the mainstream scientific community asking for examples of peer reviewed work form the IDC perspective.
By the way Ed, I've decided to steal the phrase "Bat shit crazy", which I think I saw on DFtCW, and pretend it is my own.

That's okay, I stole it from Jon Stewart, who used it to describe Zell Miller.
I enjoyed every sentence of that article, :)
