From Agape Press:
A Virginia pro-family advocate says the people who helped re-elect President Bush don't support homosexual relationships -- the administration apparently does. Joe Glover, president of the Family Policy Network, has worked tirelessly for family values, including the fight against legalized homosexual "marriage." He says it was conservative Christians who put the president back in office and who held to the belief that the president shared their views. But Glover says the day after the election, that all seemed to go out the window. "The day after George Bush was elected president again, because of this morals revolution taking place in our country, he allows his vice president to not only put his lesbian daughter on the platform, but to bring her lesbian 'partner' up on the stage with him," Glover says. "It almost seems to be a slap in the face from the get-go against the very conservatives that re-elected the president at a time when he ought to paying them some homage and respect." Glover says the Cheney daughter's open flaunting of her homosexuality is the antithesis of what the administration claims to stand for -- and that the post-election display sends a mixed message to Bush supporters.
Okay, now let's hear from the Cheneys how horrible this is that those who support the President would say such awful things about their daughter, and how Glover "isn't a good man". Wanna lay odds on that happening? See, when a Democrat says something nice about their gay daughter, that's a horrible dirty trick. When a Republican says something horrible about her, they turn into Sgt. Schultz from Hogan's Heroes - they hear nothink!

For some reason, a lot of people are all upset that John Kerry mentioned Mary Cheney by name when discussing the subject of gay marriage and whether people choose to be gay or not. This boggles my mind, and Andrew Sullivan hits it just right, I think:
I keep getting emails asserting that Kerry's…
Hat tip to Andrew Sullivan for catching this article in the National Review Online, containing this quote:
Fox News contributor Mort Kondracke put it best when he said last night, "I think it was totally underhanded -- the outing of Dick Cheney's lesbian daughter.... And it struck me as a low blow…
Timothy Sandefur says that I "refuse to call a dirty trick a dirty trick when committed by John Kerry", referring of course to all of this outrage over Kerry's mere mention of Mary Cheney's name the other night. Now it must be said that Sandefur does not take the position that so many of the others…
From his second post on the subject of Mary Cheney's name being brought up:
In many speeches on marriage rights, I cite Mary Cheney. Why? Because it exposes the rank hypocrisy of people like president Bush and Dick and Lynne Cheney who don't believe gays are anti-family demons but want to win the…
Ah, yes... Agape Press. One of the only places on the Net to get updates on the homosexual lifestyle... Every. Single. Day.
They need to change their name to Homo Obsession Press.
No wait... Strike that. The Gay Obesession Press.
No... Can't use that one, either! The acronym is already taken by another popular group with homo obsession.
Funkstro, that was hilarious!
My first reaction to reading that was, "how very typical"! All along the Bush supporters were only voting for what they "thought" Dubya stood for. Or more to the point, what they wanted him to stand for.
Remember the Maryland U study and the alternate reality that they are living in???
Don
If they didn't have real homos to bash, they would have to conjure them up. It's clear to anyone paying attention (most people aren't) that rhetorical homo-bashing organizations use rhetorical homo-bashing in their fund-raising. In other words, if there weren't real homos, they would have to create them.
BTW, it's amazing to me that nobody has appeared to have caught up with the fact that the Cheney's kvetch about Kerry was more than a bit Faux. The didn't complain when their own party's candidate for senator in Illinois, Alan Keyes, called their lesbian daughter a "selfish hedonist" on national radio because she was a daughter. I wonder why.
Just to let you know, the proprietor of a program on the nationally recognized public radio powerhouse WGBH--out of Boston--went out of her way to interview four--four--hetero conservatives regarding the Mary Cheney issue. And not one gay person who actually knew what the story was. I emailed Emily Rooney--the proprietress of the show, and daughter of CBS's Andy Rooney--and got nothing in return. I haven't contributed to public television--certainly not WGBH--for a number of reasons, and probably never will.
