Ten points to the first person who can guess who said the following thing in 1995:
"The time has come that the American people know exactly what their Representatives are doing here in Washington. Are they feeding at the public trough, taking lobbyist-paid vacations, getting wined and dined by special interest groups? Or are they working hard to represent their constituents? The people, the American people, have a right to know...I say the best disinfectant is full disclosure, not isolation."
Leave your guesses in the comments. And using google isn't fair.

A few days ago I suggested that Willie Soon's career may be taking a nose dive soon. I was right. Tomorrow's New York Times has a story that has as many leaks as an old canoe, so we can see it now in various outlets. The story is out and linked to below.

Tom DeLay. Of course.
Geez, I didn't expect everyone to guess. Lynn beat you to it by 5 minutes, but you both got it right on the first try. Sheesh.
Sorry about that flatlander but neener neener LOL
Republicans continue to astound me with their gift for projecting their own pathologies onto Democrats.
Flatlander searches for the usual disclaimer that the "Employees of Dispatches from the Culture Wars and their families are ineligible for this contest." And searches... and searches....
Tom DeLay
This goes to the head of the "Immune to Irony" log.
Great quote. Radley Balko put it up in the morning on 4/28, and I took it from him (with credit, of course) in the afternoon. I don't know who first unearthed it but I'm glad it's making the rounds.
It engendered a debate in comments at Carpundit about whether Delay is better described as "unctuous" or "contumelious". I went with the former.
Flatlander, as a VERY close member of Ed's family I did read the disclaimer and that is why I didn't put my response in the comments.
But, I still beatcha hahahaha
