Strange White House Aides

Think Progress has this list of the strangest White House jobs. Did you know that there was actually a White House Director of Lessons Learned? I didn't either. His name is Stuart Baker. And he makes $106,000 a year. Talk about your easy jobs.

Fake jobs are as old as government. During the Washington administration congressmen employed newspaper editors with do-nothing jobs so that they could sit around all day trashing their political rivals.

Does Mr. Baker just sit at his desk all day and sleep, kind of like the old Maytag repair guy? I'm not sure he has, um, the most strenuous job in Washington these days.

I don't get it--easy jobs? I don't think so; these are damn difficult jobs. Lessons learned and ethics, why, it would be easier to teach your dog to play mandolin than to get the concept of ethics across to this administration.

I have two dogs(dalmatians)that I have taught to play the mandolin(did you know that Vivaldi has a concerto for TWO mandolins)? I think I may put in for this job.
