Okay, when I first heard this about McCain's VP pick, Sarah Palin:
I figured it was just an unscripted blunder by a marginal participant. But now I see this:
After I stopped laughing, I realized it is actually going to be one of their wingnut talking points. Sarah Palin knows about foreign policy because she lives close to Russia! Could you be any more ridiculous?
Now excuse me, I am going to go put a few particle physics texts under my pillow so I can solve the mystery of Dark Matter in the morning....

Under the fold....
Alaska is right next to Russia:
She was referring to the Diomede Islands which straddle the International Date Line in the Bering Straits. Big Diomede is on the Russian side of the line and Little Domede is on the Alaskan side. There is a village of about 150 Eskimos on Little…
Its Not Just Palin -- Its The Message.:
The brilliance of the McCain strategy and messaging is that it includes a trap for Obama. To push back on the McCain claim of "country first" and "the original mavericks who will shake up Washington" the Obama campaign's attack of "four more years of George…

Netroots push back against MSM 'bias':

Don't Think of a Maverick! Could the Obama Campaign Be Improved?:
In 1980, Richard Wirthlin -- Ronald Reagan's chief strategist -- made a fateful discovery. In his first poll he discovered that most people didn't like Reagan's positions on the issues, but nevertheless wanted to vote for Reagan. The…
Obviously then, we should turn immigration policy over to the mayor of El Paso, Cuban policy to the governor of Florida and global warming policy to (who else?) the mayor of New Orleans.
well, at least the last suggestion *might* be an improvement... :-\
I don't think I would last long as a pundit interviewer, I would just burst out laughing too often!
Hey! AK is not just close to Russia. It is sandwiched between Russia and Canada!!! Even more foreign relations!
And given that Palin apparently supports Alaska seceding from the USA, she would then have even more foreign relation experience. Because presumably as president of the Alaska Democratic Republik (ADR), Palin would have close ties with it's former colonial power, the USA.
It's not just osmosis, she also gets information just by being around someone. I keep waiting for Alan Funt to come out and let us in on the joke.
I think you've missed that she comes from a place that was once actually a part of Russia! She could be a double agent!
