It sounds like casting genius, even if it's only a small role:
LAS VEGAS, Nov. 6, 2006 -- Hide the Bats! Christopher Walken has agreed to play the ultimate bad-boy rocker -- Ozzy Osbourne..
Motley Crue lead singer Vince Neil told ABC News Radio in an exclusive interview that the 63-year-old Oscar-winning actor will make a cameo appearance as Osbourne in "The Dirt," a movie based on the band's controversial 2001 autobiography.
"How funny is that going to be," Neil told ABC's Al Mancini at the Opening of Vince Neil Ink, the singer's new tattoo parlor in Las Vegas.
Walken's press representatives did not immediately return a call to ABCNEWS.com for comment.
"The Dirt: Confessions of the World's Most Notorious Rock Band" set new limits in tell-all confessionals. The 448-page tome catalogues the drug and alcohol abuse, nasty infighting, and sex parties of Neil and band mates Tommy Lee, Mick Mars and Nikki Sixx.
Too bad it has to be in a movie about a band that I never liked. Even so, seeing Walken's take on Ozzy might almost be worth the price of admission.
I met Walken on the set of a movie he was making several years ago. My son was an extra and was in several scenes.
Walken is class. He was called from his trailer to the set and the crew was not ready. The scene included several boys playing catch, and, instead of showing his annoyance with his time being wasted, he picked up a glove from the prop table, and joined the warm-up toss around with the boys.
When the assistant director saw that, he told Walken that they would be ready in a minute, sorry to keep you waiting.
Walken responded: "I am having a game of catch with these great kids. No need to rush on my account."
On the way back to his trailer, I told him that he really does know how to politely deliver a message. His response was, "That is why I am an actor." We both laughed.
HIs parents delivered pastries to the set every morning from their bakery...another major plus. Lovely people.
Walken is one of my favorite actors but I'm just not seein' it. He looks and acts nothing like the Ozz-man. Should be interesting anyway.
I'm not a big Crüe fan really but I loved the first album before they went all glam metal. It's very raw, almost punk, lotsa fun.
it wont be worth the price of admission, wait and rent it for a buck
