God damn, do I ever hate bugs.

2005 was the first full summer I spent in Boston, being originally from Hawaii. I had heard of cicadas before, but I'd never really experienced them. So when I first heard them humming away, it sent my natural paranoia into overdrive. Like tinnitus coming from outside my head! That's just not right, man! And it followed me, tree to tree!

Yeah, I figured it out in a few hours, but those were a pretty tense few hours.

Being originally from the UK, I spent most of my life blissfully unaware of these things. Hadn't actually seen one in real life until Saturday evening, when I nudged what looked like a huge moth sat next to my car.

I admit to screaming like a little girl.
