It's all the cat's fault.

I'm currently working on a book about relativity, but I still spend a fair amount of time thinking about quantum issues. A lot of this won't make it into the book, because I can't assume people will have read How to Teach Physics to Your Dog before reading whatever the relativity book's title ends…
If you have ever been licked by a cat, you have experienced just how scratchy their tongues are. If you have not had the pleasure, it is much like being licked by a piece of Velcro. In fact, Mechanical Engineer Alexis Noel (Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta) recently described the tiny claw-…
"All of the true things that I am about to tell you are shameless lies." Thus began Kurt Vonnegut's fictional Book of Bokonon, within his novel Cat's Cradle.

A scientific theory hasn't really arrived until the cynical and unscrupulous find a way to use it to extract money from the credulous and gullible. This has posed a significant obstacle for general relativity, dealing as it does with gravity, which requires really gigantic masses to produce…
Explains a typical cat's attitude toward humans.
God's dog thinks: "You pet me, you feed me, you shelter me, you love me, you must be God."

My cat thinks that way. I must be God!
Very funny, but I don't think ID is about "poofing" from one species into another species. I think it's more like "poofing" brand new species that look similar to other ones due to the common designer plan thingy. "Poofing" from one species into another species would look too much like everybody had ancestors. I think ID (and Jesus) would prefer that things are "poofed" from scratch, and what ID wants, ID gets. Nice try though. :-)
God needs one of these to keep his cat occupied. (YouTube video)
Once you've poofed there is nothing more to be said of if. That is, to invoke magic once, however marginally or with whatever implied innocence, is to shed credibility and admit to ignorance. Little poof, big poof, all the same. Unconvincing
No, that cat needs to be punished, like this. Or this. (Yeah, YouTube.)
