The joke of O'Donnell has got to be wearing thin soon, right?

It's one of the oldest, most ridiculous canards creationists use: "Why aren't monkeys still evolving into humans?" And here's Christine O'Donnell thinking it's a valid argument.

I think she was also about to claim that Darwin retracted his theory, before she got cut off…and that's another creationist lie.

Maher also misses the point in his answer. This isn't an issue of evolution being too slow at all; it's a creationist misconception that evolution is directed towards a goal, and that that goal is humanity. Monkeys are evolving into monkeys, not people.

Maher is also astonished that someone like this could be a viable candidate for the senate. What's the matter with him? Hasn't he looked at the Republican senatorial roster lately? She'll fit right in!

I was half-tempted to e-mail this one to P. Z. or Larry Moran, but my inherently merciful nature got the better of me. Because it was so idiotic, I was afraid that, after P. Z. and his regular readers got through with it (or even worse for this poor ID advocate, Larry Moran), there wouldn't be…
Orson Scott Card has written a long essay defending Intelligent Design. Oy, but it is depressing. It's a graceless hash, a cluttered and confusing mish-mash of poorly organized complaints about those darned wicked "Darwinists". He lists 7 arguments. Then he repeats his list, expanding on them.…
Sad to say, I'm discovering that some people got the wrong message from my talk last night. Something went awry, I'm not sure what, because they took home exactly the opposite idea from what I intended. I'll try summarize what I meant to say here. I was supposed to talk about creationist…
I almost forgot: there was another comment in the Karen Armstrong interview that I found irksome…but my complaint is mainly with the interviewer. Here's one question he asked her, and her answer. But certainly there are a lot of people -- both scientists and religious people -- who speculate about…
