Entries for the Austrian Alpine Club (UK) photo competition

The Austrian Alpine Club (Sektion Brittania) runs an annual photo competition. I've finally got round to entering some of my summer pix; see here. Here's my favourite that I didn't enter; this was part of Stubai: Wilder Freiger by the Lubeckerweg.

Next: Mullerhutte to Nurnberger Having got to the Mullerhutte I finally had a chance to climb the Zuckerhutl, which at 3505 m is the high point of the Stubai and something I've wanted to climb for ages. My diary reminds me it was a cold night: the hut is quite high at 3145 m, and I was alone in my…
In 2001 I had the chance to visit the Stubai for a couple of days at the start and in the middle of a conference in Innsbruck. It was wonderful, and I didn't kill myself. I've finally uploaded the pix; see flickr if you're interested. The mountains are great for either solo'ing, or an easy…

Its not difficult (incidentally, for a nice piece about the same region from the viewpoint of someone more cautious than me, see here) and this…

Having been only as far into Austria as Lech, may I ask how much further east these scenes lie ?

[Not far. They're all in the Stubai, which is a little SW of Innsbruck. Go S a little from Lech, follow the E60 about 100 km E to Innsbruck, go S a little on the E45 over the Europabruck then turn off at Schoenberg W to Mieders, Fulmes and Neustift -W]
