I like Firefox and have been using it since it was a very early beta. However, of late I've noticed that it is really hogging memory. Turns out, it's a "feature" (see this Slashdot article). More importantly, you can fix the "feature" but page loading will take a little hit.

IE 7.0. But with continued use, the advantages of Firefox
become increasingly evident. This is especially true for

Chrome Passes Firefox, Google May Pull Out Support: I stopped using Firefox around the 20th time it made me do something I shouldn't have had to do because it sucked as a browser. Firefox used to be my hero, now I regard it as somewhat dangerous, and I only use Google Chrome.

I've run Firefox 2.0 under three different operating systems on several machines.
When I use Firefox (after updating it from an older version) I have problems with lockups when I try to enter text into windows like this. I downloaded a "fix" but it didn't. I am now using Safari.
Thank you for that hint - it has been bugging me for a while now.
