Kiribati Support Since 2005, we have worked with colleagues in the Republic of Kiribati to understand the effects of climate change and to build local research capacity. Monitoring the coral reefs of the Gilbert Islands, the main island chain, is vital to helping the Kiribati people respond to the existential threat of climate change.
