Observatory Newsroom presents us with

photo of the same phenomenon,
as seen from a satellite.
These clouds appear when ice-crystal-laden clouds for high in the
atmosphere, high enough that the sun strikes the clouds while the
ground is in darkness.

cameras. The cameras weigh less than 30 grams and can
transmit video signals more than a mile.
