Marine Biologist, Mark Westneat endorses Obama

Our latest entry to the YouTube A Vote for Science challenge is by Marine Biologist Mark WestNeat. Dr Westneat is a Curator of Zoology at the Field Museum of Natural History, Director of the Biodiversity Synthesis Center, and Professor at the University of Chicago. He has provided a long list of reasons why he supports Obama. Unlike the other videos, Mark talks about his decision from the perspective of a scientist and as a fisherman and hunter. We will be featuring new videos every day on our YouTube AVoteForScience channel. Check them all out. Each provides a unique perspective. If you are a scientist and would like to submit a video, check out the simple instructions HERE.

We are still waiting for a video from a scientist supporting John McCain. C'mon there must be some scientist out there who would like to discuss with the world why they is deciding to support McCain.

When you're a hammer everything looks like a nail......Let's save the environment so I can continue to go camping and enjoy it- oh brother. "As a bow hunter, I believe in species diversity...." Oh please, we all do. Just silly.

McCain doesn't deny global warming. As a Petroleum Engineer I have to disagree with you about off-shore resources the the safety of drilling. I also think McCain has stated that Nuclear should be a big priority, which I agree with, while all I've heard from Obama is a big "well, it must be done safely" for which he gets a big "Duh!" from me. If France, Japan, etc. and the Navy can do it safely, why can't we as well?

Also, Obama's idea of progressive education as evidenced by the goals of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge are to spend more money making elementary students more politically aware of themselves as social victims of the "man." Not on increasing competency in the areas that matter. So color me unimpressed.

Also, his "refreshingly articulate speaking abilities? He's slick, that's for sure, and way too Marxist for my taste. He's going to improve healthcare by socializing it? Yeah sure.
