Jon Stewart's right. The Bush Administration is really making him obsolete. There's no need to wait for him to spin something the President says to make him look stupid and give you a good laugh. All you need to do is read the raw material.
Today's comedy routine - which I'm going to bet will be featured on the Daily Show tonight - was delivered at a CENTCOM conference at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida earlier today. The President, while trying yet again to make the case for his "surge" strategy, said:
The other option was to pull back from the capital, before the Iraqis could defend themselves against these radicals and extremists and death squads and killers. That risked turning Iraq into a cauldron of chaos.
That's right. If we don't go with the surge, we risk turning Iraq into a "cauldron of chaos." That's the risk that we face if we don't go with the surge. For crying out loud, that would be a flipping improvement on the current state of affairs in that sorry country.
It really blows the mind, doesn't it.

I noticed that upon vetoing the pullout budget, the Chimp said something like "I will not establish a deadline for failure."
He'd rather let it continue indefinitely, I assume.
When do they plan to impeach him, does anyone know?
Well, if you don't like him why did you vote him in?
TWICE!#@$!
For crying out loud, that would be a flipping improvement on the current state of affairs in that sorry country.
And you know this ... how?
Same way we know "things are better in Iraq" now without Saddam around, no?
Of course if we wanted to be pedantic we could discuss reliability of sources.
On one side you have the same people who told us about weapons of mass destruction, yellowcake uranium, and after all that had been proven bullshit, fighting for freedom and democracy for decent, freedom-&-democracy-loving Iraqis.
It was like 60 Minutes With a Bullet: A new top tune every week. Now the tune goes (sing it with me) "We have to keep fighting and killing, because if we stop fighting and killing, we will have failed to bring peace, freedom and democracy to Iraq."
The other tune, the "This is a really bad idea," tune, is not as interesting. Because it's true, and thus does not change.
Impeach the damn liars now.
I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you. The American people have been living in their own private Idaho for a long time now.
Isn't it time to apply the same exhaustive investigative techniques, as in Churchills Dismissal, against the actions, justifications and papers the current United States "Executive Branch Leadership" has relentlessly attempted to pawn off as fact? Shouldn't we as citizens demand fairness of all public officials discoursing their agenda on an unsuspecting populace? Shouldn't we demand accurate documentation? If we are to hold professionalism up to a higher plane, shouldn't the citizens of the United States fan the flames of justice against a "professional" yet seemingly corrupt establishment? Our Constitution needs you, please VOTE!
