boy done good

I am happy to report, after a scout of the Wunderpalace, that Tom et al have kept up their social panache despite the move and other life changes.

It just figured that I'd be in the Bay Area and there'd be a party at Tom's place...
Good crowd, interesting conversation (I did not know synthetic biology had got to such a stage. Must blog.) met the instigator of the Quantum Diaries and some other notables.
What I did not expect was the social event stretching out over two days, on the water.
Nice breakfast. Nice boat. City looks good from the water.

Social life of the scientists can be more interesting than most people would suspect.
We have our ways.

Oh, some interesting, if cryptic, astrophysics dialogue took place also.
May divulge at some point. Or not.
PS Happy Birthday

I might be exaggerating slightly about the ready availability of the materials... Regenesis: How Synthetic Biology Will Reinvent Nature and Ourselves by George Church and Ed Regis looks like a futurist tome on what could happen when technology finally catches up with human imagination and…
