iPod iChing - AAS 007

Friday again. And still not snowing.

We ask the iPod: what wonders can we expect from the Great Gathering of Astronomers next week?

Whoosh goes the randomizer.
Whoosh.

  • The Covering: Wari Featuring Saian Supa Crew - Alpha Blondy
  • The Crossing: Slá í Gegn - Stuðmenn
  • The Crown: Aisle of Plenty - Genesis
  • The Root: Waiting for the Worms - Pink Floyd
  • The Past: Færeyjarblús - Bubbi Morthens
  • The Future: One Part Be My Lover - Bonnie Raitt
  • The Questioner: Longview - Green Day
  • The House: Careless Whisper - George Michael
  • The Inside: Play that Funky Music - Wild Cherry
  • The Outcome: Days Like These - Billy Bragg

Wow.
The Covering - tres tendy, mon.
The Crossing is "make it big" - a man's dream of fame, he'll do anything except appear naked. Sung by an artist famous for appearing naked in a national theater production as I recall.
The Crown clearly refers to the endless Poster Sessions.
The Root is a bit worrying.
The Past is "Faeroe Island blues" - a classic vision of grinding in obscurity
The Future speaks of separation and moving on...
The Question is a bit harsh. Ouch. The iPod is a Mighty Harsh Boss.
The House speaks of love, betrayal and moving on to a new fad.
The Inside just rocks. And reminds us of cell phone calls on hold...
The Outcome speaks of politics, betrayal and radicalism.

"Those whose lives are ruled by dogma are waiting for a sign
The Better Dead Than Red Brigade are listening on the line
And the liberal, with a small L cries in front of the TV
And another demonstration passes on to history
Peace, bread, work, and freedom is the best we can achieve
And wearing badges is not enough in days like these"

As always, the Key as explained by Sean
