World's Most Expensive Pizza

A
while back, I posted a picture of this area's most expensive Pizza,
from Pizza
House in Ann Arbor
.  That one was only about $25.
Now I see there is one that is a wee bit more than that:

NEW
YORK (Reuters) - A New York restaurateur has cooked up the most world's
most extravagant pizza -- a $1,000 pizza topped with six sorts of
caviar and fresh lobster.

Nino
Selimaj, who runs six pizza restaurants in New York, on Wednesday
unveiled his Luxury Pizza, a 12 inch (30 cms), thin crust topped with
caviar, lobster, creme fraiche and chives. Cut into eight, it works out
at $125 a slice.

"I
know this won't be for everyone but there are people in New York who
can afford it and once tried, they'll be back for more. It is
delicious,"...

I
don't know about that.  Seems perverse to pay more for a pizza
that a car payment.

I ask this because Boston's local gourmet pizza chain, Upper Crust, which is loved by foodies, has been massively exploiting its undocumented workers: Tobins [the owner of Upper Crust] needed lots of kitchen help; the Brazilians worked hard and didn't complain about workweeks that routinely…
One of the alleged facts that President Bush loves to point at when he's trying to justify his veto of the State Children's Health Insurance Program (S-CHIP) expansion is that the new bill would have allowed New York to enroll children from families making up to 400% of the federal poverty level.…

A little while ago, while I idly browsing through various mentions of the weatherizing provisions in the economic stimulus bill, I came across this beautiful example of compassion: Nothing stimulates the economy like government funding, at the expense of working Americans, for layabouts who can'…

You're right. The story about the pizza also mentions $1,000 ice-cream sundae called Golden Opulence which is covered in 23K edible gold leaf.

I wonder what sort of profit margin he's pulling in on that.

And if it tastes like a dog's breakfast, who's going to spit it out and admit they paid that kind of money for garbage?

And who is eating this: the 2% who have stolen all the money, they need something to do with it. You can only carry so much bling, might as well eat bling.

Those better be some good chives!
