Anne Coulter is a mole

There is no other explanation for her eulogy for Falwell entitled, I kid you not, "Jerry Falwell -- Say Hello to Ronald Reagan!"

In her impassioned defense of Falwell's most egregious statements, from blaming 9/11 on atheists and gays, to accusing Tinky Winky of being a gay recruiter, she proves she's really a Democratic agent working to undermine the religious right. Here's a couple of excerpts.

Falwell was a perfected Christian. He exuded Christian love for all men, hating sin while loving sinners. This is as opposed to liberals, who just love sinners. Like Christ ministering to prostitutes, Falwell regularly left the safe confines of his church to show up in such benighted venues as CNN.

Let me be the first to say: I ALWAYS agreed with the Rev. Falwell.

Actually, there was one small item I think Falwell got wrong regarding his statement after 9/11 that "the pagans, and the abortionists, and the feminists, and the gays and the lesbians -- who are actively trying to make that an alternative lifestyle -- the ACLU, People for the American Way, all of them who have tried to secularize America. I point the finger in their face and say, 'You helped this happen.'"

First of all, I disagreed with that statement because Falwell neglected to specifically include Teddy Kennedy and "the Reverend" Barry Lynn.

There have always been gay people -- even in the prelapsarian '50s that Jerry Falwell and I would like to return to, when God protected America from everything but ourselves.

What Falwell was referring to are the gay activists -- the ones who spit the Eucharist on the floor at St. Patrick's Cathedral, blamed Reagan for AIDS, and keep trying to teach small schoolchildren about "fisting."

I just laughed and laughed. Seriously, you'll love it.

More like this

I don't think Reagan and Falwell will bw allowed to talk, it would interfere with the whole eternal suffering in a lake of fire, that they have both earned, if you believe in that sort of thing

Can I jusk ask, since we sent over our homesexual friend with the antenna on his head, how many gay babies have managed to recruit? We might just clone him and send an army...

Good thing the Atlantic is there...

"Nothing is ever as 'controversial' as yammering about Scripture as if, you know, it's the word of God or something."

Oh Ann, how endearingly hokey. I think I just threw up in my mouth a little bit.

I think Ann's act has devolved into a mass-media equivalent of someone making animal noises and biting the heads off chickens in a shabby travelling circus. She seems to no longer care whether it's possible for *anyone* to respect her.

The one bit of woo I allow myself: I think Im good at sniffing out moles/odd ones out. Whether its the closeted atheist, or homosexual hiding as a Fundie, or whether a Creationist 'believes' what hes spouting-- I think I can 'tell'.

But my magic only works in person. Ive had my suspicions of Culture, but I wont know unless I see her in person. Such is woo-- always with the qualifiers :P

ERV, as Dorothy Parker said: You can bring a horticulture, but you can't make her think.

What?

Which is the simpler explanation? Are people like Coulter, Phelps and Robertson really exactly as deranged and hypocritical as they appear, or are they deep-cover agents putting themselves through hell to slowly undermine groups almost as demented as they're pretending to be?

I think Coulter started out as a genuine right-winger who occasionally said shocking things to get attention, and has drifted into being an automatic contrarian.

I don't think she's a mole, but good gods, this reads like a parody.

Gahhh, I just realized that my attepted joke could be badly misconstrued. I hope everyone realizes that the "hor" refers to Ann, the AW exemplar.

Falwell was a bigot, and Coulters strong support of the "Bell Curve" confirms her being a bigot. So it is only natural that a bigot praises a bigot - no surprise there!!
"Hate is great" is their by word, bigots love to hate.

For anyone who has seen the Prestige, there is that moment where Christian Bale looks admiringly at the old Chinese magician for his dedication to his craft. It's hard not to admire Ann in the same way.

Anne Coulter is a tool.

I challenge Coulter to die her hair black, cut it short, and see how much attention the flatulance from her barking bunghole gets then.

The only function Coulter serves is as an intellectual honesty test. If you claim to support her, you are either an idiot, or totally partisan.

Yes, she is an agent of an underground rationalist movement, along with quite a few others. Each agent is assigned to a particular high profile anti-rationalist group, and tasked to become recognizable members, then turn batshit crazy and ruin the group's credibility. Here are some other notable agents and their assignments:

* Tom Cruise (Scientology)
* Ted Haggard (Evangelical Christianity)
* Michael Egnor (Intelligent Design)

They are easy to spot, if you pay attention. If you find yourself thinking "how can someone be THAT crazy/ignorant/stupid/clueless!?" you're probably on to something.

Strangely enough, "mole" isn't the four-letter word that springs most readily to mind when I'm confronted by this contemptible harpy...

T. Bruce McNeely:

hehehe Thanks for the clarification, but we're on SciBlogs talking about Coulter-- I didnt think you were calling me a hor ;)

It would be nice sometime when the hermaphrodite Ms. (Mr.) Coulter appears on a cable talk show for somebody to challenge her (him) to submit a mouth swab for DNA testing. It wouldn't surprise me in the least to find out that she (he) has Y chromosome.

I went to school with Ann. She is well educated and extremely intelligent. Liberal pseudo-intellectuals beware!

It has been bandied about on the web that Ms. (Mr.) Coulter actually doesn't believe most of the crap that comes out of her (his) mouth. Several people who know her claim that she does it to garner attention and sell books to the credulous. The trouble is that, as time goes on, she (he) has to become more and more extreme and wacky in order to maintain the attention. After all, she (he) has competitors like Michael Savage (nee Weiner) who actually believes the crap that comes out of his mouth.

I like the use of the word "prelapsarian" in this article.

You know, here's the thing. Ann Coulter is neither ugly nor unfeminine. She is too thin and tries to make herself look far younger than she is, but attacking her femininity seems to be an unnecessarily craven way of commenting on a woman who has made herself look like a complete fool with her words alone. It's like throwing around the word "shrill" -- it's too loaded to be anything but playground-level verbal abuse.

Coulter is demonstrably nuts, and about as much fun to read as a root canal. Her only function is the same as much of the rest of the conservative commentariat -- to reinforce peoples' prejudices to shore up conservative power. She's a lot of things -- obnoxious, attention-whoring, bigoted, and incredibly hypocritical -- so why bother attacking her looks when she discredits herself in so many other ways?
