If MSU wins, it will be their second national title in the last 3 years. That's an incredible accomplishment by any measure, made even more amazing by the fact that they didn't even debate NDT until the two organizations merged.

A friend sent me a link to this article in Newsweek about Jerry Falwell's Liberty University being the #1 debate team in the nation, knowing that I know the debate world pretty well and would find it interesting.
As a follow up to all the Liberty University nonsense, I thought I'd mention that this weekend is the NDT championships. They're being held at Northwestern. Tonight is the opening ceremonies, where they give away the Copeland Award to the top team during the regular season.
I'm out of here for the weekend, so don't expect anything new. i'm headed to Bloomfield Hills for one of our semi-annual old debate buddies reunions. We get together, eat steaks the size of hubcaps, play poker all night and have interesting conversation.
