Alabama Democrats Tell Darby to Get Lost

From the AP:

The Alabama Democratic Party Executive Committee wants Larry Darby, whose radical views include the belief that the Holocaust did not happen, to stay out of future Democratic Party primaries.

The executive committee passed a resolution Saturday telling Darby, who lost a race for the party's nomination for attorney general, that "he is not welcome in the Alabama Democratic Party."

Darby, former director of the Atheist Law Center in Montgomery, responded by saying the vote shows that the state party's leadership is "intellectually and morally bankrupt."

Being called intellectually and morally bankrupt by Larry Darby is like being called crazy by Larry Fafarman. And you gotta love Darby's logic:

"This is the typical heavy handed behavior of the Alabama Democratic Party for the last 30 years," Darby said. "They're censoring me for having the wrong views."

They're not censoring you, Larry. You still have every right to spew your bullshit far and wide. They just don't want you to do it while running on their ticket because you're an embarrassment.

The other day, I mentioned an atheist named Larry Darby who happened to be an anti-Semite and Holocaust denier. I was perturbed because this clown was coming far too close to my neck of the woods for comfort, and the stench of his vileness offended me. Because Darby is an atheist, not surprisingly…
Here's an unfortunate story that shows that loonies come in all varieties: BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Democratic Party leaders are wondering what to do about a candidate for attorney general who denies the Holocaust occurred and wants to "reawaken white racial awareness." Larry Darby, the founder of the…
Some of you may remember a few months back my post about Larry Darby, former head of the Atheist Law Center who is now running for attorney general in Alabama. Eugene Volokh and I both wrote posts outing Darby as the total nutball that he is after a series of bizarre posts he made to the…
This is embarrassing. The Atheist Law Center, which I had never heard of before but from its website looks like it is mostly supporting the right stuff (OK, except for the weird calendar reform business), was founded by a guy named Larry Darby, who has since resigned. He is now running for attorney…

What is it with wacko's and the belief that if people don't agree with their views that we are censoring them. Do they actually believe that everyone has to acknwledge and allow their views?

If I applied at the Athiest Law Center when Darby was running it, could I boldy proclaim that anyone who thinks the Holocaust didn't happen is a dimwit and a racist and expect to be welcomed by an organization that stands for the complete opposite?

bah

Some in the Religious Society of Friends call themselves agnostics and atheists. If they had blogs, they'd be candidates for your blogroll.

Agnostic or Atheist?

How about ... "dunno but I suppose I'll find out one fine day." ;o)
