It's the end of the year, and I'm feeling a bit reflective. (I'm also avoiding a daunting between-semesters to-do list. When will I manage to take a break?) In a recent comment thread, Female Engineering Professor commented: I often find myself wondering about various random threads on these blogs…
Since I'm currently out of town, original content is going to be in short supply for a few days. Fortunately, there are a few things I've written over the years that I think people might still enjoy (or at least tolerate). Since they didn't get read much when I first posted them, I thought I'd…
[I've been sick the past couple days, so I'm not going to be able to post a new Casual Friday today. But here's an old one that many of our readers probably haven't seen.] Last week's Casual Friday survey asked readers to describe how they expect other drivers to behave when merging onto the…

Say it isn't so...more scientists (or scientists in training) picking on Jesus and those who follow Jesus.

Get the followers of Jesus to leave us scientists alone and stop trying to tell us how to do our jobs and lots of us will gladly stop picking on them.

Abbie,
loved the talk, and the boobiezzz.....and the PZ revelation at the end lol
I wonder what the audience was like tho, because the topics you mentioned were all Creotardism 101 for any scienceblog reader...

The blog moves, the trolls come with it.

The blog moves, the trolls come with it.

It's an unfortunate crossing between parasitic trolls and the inertia of fundamentalists like creationists. This troll is so retarded that he thinks promoting science is picking on his religion. Little realizing that science is a fair time picker on antiscientific activities.

"This troll is so retarded that he thinks promoting science is picking on his religion."
So you didn't watch the video? (You gotta crank the volume up.)

Wait, wait, wait....
You're not supposed to look like that?? I was thinking more PZ Myers in a skirt....

William Wallace, aka Cowardheart, provides great entertainment for those who get used to his lame "humor". Here's a perfect example:

Amazing that he would waste time on such a lame subject as a teacher's misbehavior, connect it with the National Center for Science Education, then say to a commenter: "Blipey, ID is not the topic of this thread. But to answer your question, no. But there is an interstate effort to protect the church of Darwinism in the name of science education. Do you dispute this?"

Yes, I do. because there is no church of Darwinism. To claim there is one is to lie, period.

William Wallace: Who let you out? Get back in your thread!

Oh yeah, superficial pot shots are your specialty and actually having a centralized continuous discussion doesn't work so great for that. Whoopsies!

Really bad camera angle on the presentation. You can't see the slides at all.
